Social Media is a part of our lives. It can be pervasive, and invasive...until you walk through the school doors and it is blocked. The school building becomes a peaceful oasis where social media can't get you. It's fabulous, the students are protected within the walled garden..... but are they really? Are we doing our students a disservice by overprotecting them? If so, how do we strike a balance between the outside world and the expectation that we protect our students from harm?
This roundtable discussion is for grade level leaders, administrators, subject heads and anyone who wants to affect change in their schools. Come ready to debate both sides, discuss, and peer beyond the walls into the garden and outside of it. We'll delve into how much is too much, how to protect when the gate is open and strategise on how to deal with the naysayers and "NIMBYs" ; how the school can be the leader rather than the follower. http://goo.gl/Miq7XL
